I cannot get this app to record at all. It will not even call the person, and once it even called someone whose number I did not input. I was trying to call my mother and it called a total stranger who answered the phone in a different language. I am surprised that this app has so many good reviews, but it is truly a useless app. I regret the .99 cents I spent on it, and the additional 1.99 I spent for an hour block of recording. There is no way to test if the app works without buying the 1.99 hour block of recording (as it is the minimum number of credits you can buy), so I only had prior reviews to go on. Sadly, it does work at all. Id stay away from this app.

I just bought this app, and then after I bought it, I found out that it cost extra to record calls. There is a permanent charge. I feel that there should have been a mention of that in the information for this app. The app seems to work fine other than that.

Costs $ to download app. Then you have to pay for minutes to use the recorder. That was not mentioned in their info. If I had known you have to pay more after you pay for the app, I wouldnt have downloaded it.

I can’t get it to record. It worked one minute and then not the next. Can’t figure out how to get it to work again. I tested it and then went to an interview and couldn’t get it to work. Very frustrated!!

The new version renames all your files when you sync, so if you give them meaningful names you will just be wasting your time. I wasted hours on this. I submitted 2 support queries on this subject and never heard back. Maybe for phone calls this is okay, but for music there is probably a more responsive app maker out there.

The amount of problems with this app are astounding. It doesnt record. It doesnt play back. Their tech support is sloooow and dont know how to fix anything. There are too many glitches for them to keep up with. When Retronyms upgraded to their newer version, they LOST two very important recordings I needed. Apparently, someone paying you by the minute for backup storage on recordings doesnt mean that its a priority to actually store the recordings. They have no phone number available for tech support, so I had to wait for emails from a very nice and well-meaning customer service rep…who couldnt do squat because the engineer was sloooooow at getting back to her. When he supposedly "fixed" the problem, it wasnt actually fixed. As it stands, Im now sitting on an article I was supposed to turn in 5 days ago. I had to explain to my editor that I missed my deadline because I bought an app where I pay by the minute for recording and storage, but they magically deleted the recording off of my phone, and it took them 5 days to "fix" something in a way that didnt fix anything, and so the waiting game continues.

The app only records outgoing calls, not incoming ones (due to apple’s hardware not allowing calls to be tapped). Outgoing calls are US-only, because it forwards the call through a server that records the call (thus an internet connection is required). Unfortunately when I tried using the app I got a 502 error. The developers have a good support page with FAQ, but no mention of that error nor what it means.

it lost my recording and i really needed it. it was the worst feeling! i tried everything to get it back. do not waste the money on the app or the credits. find something else.

This is app is literally the best app for recording any audio on an iDevice. Idk what theyve done but it comes out with the best sounding recordings for music out of any app Ive bought. Its great for musicians who wanna get quick clean live recordings. Just make sure youre not blowing out the mic and for drummers usually the "sweet spot" is about 15-20ft away and maybe muffle the mic with a thin pillow. Absolutely wondrous sound. Can hear every nuance and articulation, same with any other instruments. And for voice calls, it also again reigns supreme! The ONLY gripe I have is not having a dedicated cloud to sync my recordings to without the use of wifi. That would be great cause then the recordings could be uploaded and deleted from your device to make room for new recordings. Not to mention it acts as a backup. Also, so glad you can now pull the files off without wifi, but i wish you didnt HAVE to do it through iTunes. But these are personal opinions, I still think the app deserves 5/5. No problems here, just thumbs up!!

I made recording of a children’s book for the first grade. Could not email it (file size too large) although I have emailed larger. Would not sync with voice memos in iTunes. Supposedly it will sync with some apps but none that I have. Can not save it to my Mac as mp3. In effect, I lost all my work and will now have to re-record it in another app. Thanks a lot. The kids appreciate it too.

It was working great, until 2 months ago--now it wont record. Once you press record, the timer is displayed, but it never counts up, and it doesnt record audio.

Sorry I bought this app. It charges for every phone recording. Its a pay phone disguised as a recording app! Stay away from this loser!!

First, the recorder started losing voice memos. That was bad, and customer service, once they finally responded, basically just shrugged and said there’s no automatic backup of the memos and there’s nothing they can do. But they said calls were automatically backed up online so I didn’t need to worry about losing them. Well, guess what? The last two phone calls I’ve made weren’t recorded online. When I go to the wifi sync page they show up as null. I don’t know what happened, this used to be a great tool. But no longer.

It does what it is supposed to do and they have excellent technical support.

Was hoping I would be able to record audio from other apps with this, but no-go. $1 down the tube.

Ripoff. They omit telling people that you have to pay for "credits" to actually record calls. Basically, its a scam to get people to pay the 0.99 for the app. Dont do it.

Save your money. You have to pay for every use.

I am just beside myself. I used recorder to record a conference call so I could listen and go back for detailed updating of the task list. I paid extra for minutes to record my call and wouldnt you know- it records nothing. I have nothing form the call- just a file that wont download. This app is awful. Dont waste your money or trust it with important documentation.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus. Not only do you have to buy a credit, nothing tells you what a credit actually is. The sound quality of the recording was so bad it was unusable.

My files are too large to email and when I do wifi synch none of the links work. I can view all of my recorded file names in the list, but when I click on the link to download I get an error message. I tried to go to their help page and email support and both those pages give me error messages as well. I am very unhappy.
